We Are The Professionals For NDIS Success!!

Hear for Less has helped hundreds of NDIS participants, like you, across Australia successfully achieve their much-needed hearing goals with our simple, fast, and efficient process to obtain Assistive Technology and Hearing Services.

**IMPORTANT** USEIT OR LOSE IT! Once the NDIS has approved your individual plan budget, the funds are there to be spent, in full. Not spending your allocated funds means you will lose your remaining budget when your plan ends and may jeopardise future plan budgets.

Reports from other NDIS participants show that it's much harder to justify a new plan budget at the same level when you have not been able to meet the allocated budget by the NDIS from the 'year' before. Therefore, it's important that you spend your entire NDIS budget.

NEW: Hear for Less is now offering full end-to-end installations nationwide. Brooks Smoke Alarm Hardwired Installations by Professional Electricians. Ring3 Video Doorbells and All Bellman Products.

You can now order NDIS solutions through Hear for Less without paying up front. Simply choose the items you require and then select NDIS Participants at check-out, following the instructions, and away you go.

What Is The NDIS Plan?

If you are living with a disability and are eligible for support – in the form of services, items, and equipment – an NDIS plan can help you live your life to the best of your ability.

Each NDIS plan is created bespoke by an NDIS planner who works with you and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and considers your lived experience and how your disability impacts your day-to-day life every year.

This impact is formalised into goals as part of the planning process, helping you to notice and use your strengths, giving things to work towards, and providing measurable progress.

Each NDIS plan comes with assigned funding and support that can allow you to access:

  • General supports which are provided to you
  • Reasonable and necessary supports that are funded with the allowance in your NDIS plan

That can help you work towards achieving your goals.

Every NDIS plan continues until you no longer need it, or you leave the NDIS – meaning you are never left without funding or supports – helping you to feel confident and protected.

Watch this quick two-minute video to find out more.

What is covered by NDIS?

The NDIS subsidises hearing support for eligible NDIS participants aged 26 or older who do not qualify for the Government's Hearing Services Program (HSP).

The HSP funds hearing services for Australian citizens and permanent residents who are younger than 26, or hold a Pension or DVA card.

Based on your requirements supplied by an audiologist, the NDIS could potentially cover the costs of the following:

  • Hearing aids
  • Assistive technologies
  • Audiological services
  • Repairs and maintenance

Plus, a range of other hearing support devices or accessories.

The NDIS may also fund additional necessary hearing supports that are not available through the HSP, including to participants under 26.

Please note: you can access the NDIS and HSP programs simultaneously, however, you can't gain the same hearing supports from both at the same time.

What Is The NDIS Budget For?

Your NDIS funding will be based on a set of criteria that are assessed at the start of your plan and can be used to make your life easier or help you access things that help you to be healthier or more independent.

The NDIS plan and budget are overseen by your NDIS contact or support coordinator, who will let you know if you are:

  • Using too much or too little of your funding
  • Require more supports
  • Not using your funding adequately to help reach your goals

What Will Happen If I Don’t Use All Of My NDIS Budget?

Although your NDIS budget is assigned for you to be used for supports, if you don’t make use of them all before your next plan starts, it will be returned to the NDIA.

As such, it is essential that you monitor your spending throughout the year and use it wisely with trusted providers, like Hear For Less®.

As Australia’s leading NDIS-registered provider of hearing loss solutions, we aim to provide a range of accessible solutions for those living with hearing loss that sit under your Daily Activities, Consumables, Core Budget, and Low-Tech Assistive Technology groups.

How to claim in the NDIS portal

If you're self-managed, you'll be responsible for claiming and paying for supports by making payment requests. You'll need to make and manage claims using the NDIS portal, which can be accessed through your myGov account. You'll require the following details to make a claim:

  • The date the support or service was delivered.
  • The provider’s details, such as their ABN.
  • The price of the support.
  • The support category you are using to pay for the support.

For more information, visit the official NDIS Paying for Your Supports help page, where you can find more advice on how to claim the NDIS portal.

Even if you're Plan-Managed Funding or NDIA-Managed Funding, you'll still need to access the NDIS portal to ensure your budgets and funding are on track.

NDIS funding for hearing support may stop if you:

The NDIS will check each time they reasess your plan whether you’re still eligible for the program - which is usually annually.
